Dr. Zaman employs a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) orientation and incorporates trauma-informed CBT when clinically indicated. Other modalities are employed when needed. She works with a wide variety of clinical presentations including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment, and relationship concerns.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) addressing change in thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors to achieve greater emotional wellness. With trauma-informed CBT, the change in thoughts and beliefs are focused on the trauma. The objective is to learn how to manage behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that are triggered by past or current overwhelming experiences.
Sessions are generally structured with ongoing discussions and adjustments to increase the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
